My Evening cleaning routine.

This is the forth and final part of my Routine series. If you have not read the other three post I will link them below:

My mummy morning routine

My morning cleaning routine

Our family evening routine

cleaning-932936_640I have a pretty simple evening cleaning routine that I do every night, even on weekends. Having an evening cleaning routine has really helped me keep my house in order and become more organised. With three children, messy and disorganisation come hand in hand and if you don’t find a system that works for you and your family it can get overwhelming very quickly.

Life always has a way of throwing things at me so sometimes I really don’t feel like doing my evening routine but I know that if I don’t, the next morning will start off wrong and I will be in a stressed out mood.

I have a print out for my morning routine and daily room tasks but for my evening cleaning routine, I have been doing it for so long it has become second nature. Here is the list of tasks I do every night.

KITCHEN

  • Load the dishwasher
  • Hand wash any pots and pans
  • Wipe down kitchen counter tops
  • Empty recycling
  • Sweep and mop floor

LIVING ROOM

  • Tidy toys away
  • Fold blankets
  • Clear sides
  • Sweep and mop floor

PLAYROOM

  • Put toys away
  • Clear sides
  • Sweep and mop floor

UPSTAIRS

  • Put my washing away
  • Quick tidy of the bath room

I will complete the upstairs tasks while I am waiting for my bath to run or before I jump in the shower. By doing the same routine every night, I am sending a signal to my brain and body that it’s coming to the end of the day and its time to settle down and start relaxing ready for bed.

I hope you have enjoyed finding out about my routines and please leave me a comment or drop me a line on social media to let me know if you have any routines and which of my routines you like most.
